One thing that I really, really, REALLY want to do is learn how to sew better! I've got all the gear...sewing machine, pins, scissors, thread, even a few patterns...but I have to admit, it takes me FOREVER to figure out how to sew anything. Guess that's because I'm still a newbie at this, huh? ;) I have managed to pull together a few sewing projects though, and one of them was this beautiful dress that I made from a pattern sent to me by Whimsy Couture Sewing Tutorials & More. The owner of Whimsy Couture handmakes and creates all her patterns so they are completely original, unique, and...in my opinion...gorgeous. :) As I read through the instructions, I found that they were easy to follow (especially since there are also pictures along with each direction to SHOW you what you're supposed to be doing). The pattern does come with a sizing guide for dress and skirt lengths, but the trickiest part for me was still to figure out how long I wanted to make the dress...but I must say that the sizing guide was a big help, and the dress turned out to be the perfect fit. Even the math was easy - and you're talkig to someone here who hates math and is really awful at it! haha. :) 
I should mention that I also tweeked the pattern a bit. The orginal pattern is for the adorable overall twirly dress pictured, BUT since we were lacking overalls and the pattern said it was just as easy to make a t-shirt dress with the pattern I decided to go ahead with that and make her a sweet, long sleeved, warm, winter t-shirt dress. It's perfect, girly, twirly and now I am officially a fan of handmade sewing patterns! ;)WIN IT!
