Colic Update...

If you remember, Emily was having some trouble with colic after she was born. Yep...good ol' colic. And unfortunately she's still been having some trouble with it. She was doing amazing for the past week...she slept SO well at night, and barely spit up any sour milk at all during the day. I thought we were getting past the worst of it - and that icky colic was going away. BUT, I was wrong. It is back! Yesterday and today she has been spitting up huge amounts of sour milk (well, I'm sure it's not HUGE HUGE amounts, it just looks like a lot), and she's been fussy and gassy again. Nuts!! Oh well. She's still not really bad...she just cries whenever she spits up sour milk - I'm sure it tastes disgusting!! And she's pretty fussy in the evenings and usually has trouble going back to sleep after she wakes up for her middle of the night meal. But other than that she's good - and once again (I know I say this pretty much every week!!) I think it is because of the fact that I wear her so much during the day...otherwise I'm pretty sure things would be a lot worse. Oh, and the soother is helpful sometimes too. :) Whoever invented the soother was one smart cookie! Otherwise it is so cute to see Emily start to watch Tate! She watches him play...and when she is watching him she's just very quiet and intent on him! It's so cute. :) And she's "talking" more and of course she is smiley too! I looove it when babies start to smile. And when they start to laugh. Someone left a comment on my blog the other day saying that one of the best things about being a parent is watching your child discover joy - and I agree!! :)

Tomorrow (Thursday) is the last day to enter my contest for a $25 gift certificate to Layer's clothing! Be sure to check it out.

So sorry to hear that it isn't gone yet! At least wearing her during the day gives you, and her some relief!

That's stinky! I know how bad it is. We used Wellements Gripe Water at every feeding. It is homeopathic and all natural. It was amazing the difference it made. I'm sure there are other brands out there that are just as good, but seriously, my daughter could have been a spokes-baby for the stuff. It helped the gas, the colic and the spit up!

Let me know if you can't find it in Canada, but I bought it at Kroger and Target here. You can get it online, too.

Good luck!

Look at her smile in that picute! Sorry to hear the colic is stinking around. I know my sister in law tried Gripe Water and it worked wonders for her. Just a though. Also, have you kept track of what you eat to see if there is a certain food triggering her gas and fussing? I know it probably isn't that, but it was a though. I hope it gets better soon!

Such a beautiful smile! That sucks about the colic. Selah rarely had an upset tummy. Hopefully you can find something that helps.

Do you think it could be reflux and not colic? Grace had reflux and I would have to keep her still and upright. And she would scream like that too because it hurt her for it to come back up.
Everyone keeps mentioning the gripe water but it was recalled this year. I don't know if I would trust it.

Awww.. I'm so sorry. She sure is a cutie in that picture. Do you think she is having problems with reflux? I need to catch up since our big move, so if you discussed about reflux before forgive me. Big (((HUGS)))

Oh really? The soother helps? I must consider that then when I have my #2!!!

Hope she grows out of it soon! Till then, stay calm and cool mummy!

She is getting so big already I can't believe it. She really looks like Tate I think. Baby smiles are the best!

Aw, she looks so happy! I'm sorry to hear about the colic. Fly spit up *all the time* until I realized if I cut back on my dairy intake, he was OK (because I breastfeed him). So I sympathize!

That's too bad that her little tummy is hurting again. She is incredibly cute though! I'm sure you've already thought of this- but did you eat differently last week when she was seeming to feel better?
