Tate is so easy to parent...really! (MOST of the the time anyways...he does have his moments!) But two days ago we decided it was time for him to switch from the cradle to his new toddler bed. He still has a low rail on the side he gets in and out on...but there is also a space for him to crawl in and out of the bed. I was mainly worried that he would just get out of bed whenever he wanted to and play in his room, etc. When I put him in bed, I am putting him there for a reason - because he's tired and needs to sleep, and I want him to stay in bed. So I was prepared for a few tears, etc. about the fact that he couldn't get out of bed and play. BUT so far (hopefully it won't change yet!!) he has not even tried to get out of the bed once until we come in the room. As soon as we are in the room he gets out of bed. And he has been sleeping like a charm in the toddler bed too. Last night he actually fell out of bed in the middle of the night...don't ask me how he did that since the opening where he gets in and out of the bed is pretty small...but he did fall out. Luckily I had put a blanket down on the floor JUST in case there was some remote chance that he'd fall out (I was thinking that he most likely would not be falling out since the opening is so small...but obviously I was wrong!). Anyways, he landed on the blanket and was scared but not hurt or anything. So I picked him up, put him back in bed and he went right back to sleep. Last night he did not fall out. :) Yay!

I am very pleased with how easy the transition from crib to toddler bed went though. He seems to adjust to changes EXTREMELY easily (you can even see that from how easily he adjusted to having Emily around 24/7!!). So now the crib is ready for Emily whenever she's too big for the cradle...and once she starts sleeping a little better maybe - she's having some colic issues...but that's a whole new post...and believe me that post is coming!! haha. :)
P.S. I have a
new contest up and running again.
Check it out. :)

What a sweet little sleeper! Good for Tate and his transitioning to the bed. Yeah!! Ashlyn did really well when we transitioned her to a bed....she never got out or played, etc either. We were lucky there too. It wasn't until she was older that she figured out she could actually get in and out of bed herself! ;) I hope Tate continues to do such a great job. He is a sweet and good boy for his mommy!
What a sweet little man you have there.
But isn't it funny how different they can be?? My 2nd had colic REALLY bad for like 8 month, UGH.
I think that is why I don't want anymore kids (well one of them)
Im glad he transitioned well. I bet he feels so grown up now doesnt he?
Love the swaddle pics below 2! so cute!!
Oh what a cutie! Im so glad that the transition went well. Tate is such a trooper!
yeah for smooth transitions! we've just put esme's crib mattress on the floor and she loves it - plays there even when it's not naptime! she does sleep there, too, as long as it's pitch dark and one of us is there beside her.
That is so great that everything is working out! We still catch Madison playing in her room long after we think she has fallen asleep!
Lyndsy is like that too. Totally easy going and takes changes so easily it leaves me waiting for the sky to fall. Good Job Tate. So glad you are giving mommy such an easy time. We mommies appreciate those moments!
glad the transition went smoothly for you. hope Emily starts to feel better soon
He is so adorable and comfy in that bed. You are so blessed. Colic! Oh no. Eliza was colicky and it was a nightmare.
Yay Tate!! What a smart boy you have!!
Kaelen decided suddenly at 20 months that there was no way that he was going into his crib. Just out of the blue. So we got really lucky with that transition. I can guarantee you though that Masyn will be a HEADACHE because she will want to run around. I was kind of hoping to transition her late this summer but am kind of rethinking that thought. Her crib is kind of like a holding cell for her ... which can be nice when needed. :)
Hopefully Tate will continue loving his big boy bed.
