KickTrak - A 'lil peace of mind!!

The first time I heard about this product I really thought it was a great idea, and I was definitely wishing I had one!! At that time I wasn't pregnant yet...but hoping to be pretty soon. ;) And babykick was generous enough to send me one of these KickTraks which I was lovin' the idea of more and more every day!! Seriously, it is a really neat idea...and will definitely help in giving me a little peace of mind! I've heard some really sad stories of babies dying just before they were born, etc...and I just want to do all I can to make sure that I'm keeping track - and REMEMBER!! what has been going on with this baby. So, what is it exactly? Well, it's a little hand-held device that tracks your baby's movements, counts down pregnancy progress and also does other great things like tracking the time between contractions - Yeah!! I needed that last time! haha. 23 hours of staring at the clock (well, not quite 23 hours of JUST staring at the clock...probably the 1st 12 hours were staring at the clock though) equals TOO much clock staring - and that second hand...hmm...it's starts too look weird after you stare at it too long! haha. Anyways, the KickTrak will be MUCH handier this time around I am sure. Okay, so here's what's so great about the KickTrak besides what I just mentioned up there:

--Non-evasive - all you have to do to keep track is push a button!
--Provides peace of mind to expecting mamas since the baby's movement is an indicator of the baby's health.
--stores and recalls the 10 most recent kick counting sessions.
--Tracks the pregnancy progress in weeks and in days (love that...I've always been the type to count down the number of days there are left until exciting events are going to be happening!!!)
--Bilingual display (English and Spanish! Hey...maybe I can pick up a few Spanish words this way! ha!)
--And most importantly since you are tracking your baby's movements on here, mama's who notice a big change in fetal movements patterns or whose babies take longer than 2 hrs. to make 10 movements should contact their Dr.'s! This is a great way to keep track...especially if you are a busy mommy of one or more kids already! :) And obviously this would help decrease the risk of a stillbirth.

Sooo, if you'd like to read more about it head over to Babykick and there's loads of great information for you there! ALSO!! If you are interested in getting a KickTrak for yourself or a friend you can use the coupon code “andrea” for a 10% discount, valid through March 31, 2008. :) I really think it's a great idea and I'm sure it'll be great to have around for my 2nd pregnancy!

Thanks for posting the belly pic! I will try to get one of my own on today too. I agree, pregnancy is not my thing either....so this time around I'm really trying to embrace (as much as possible) my changing shape, and therefore have to post some pictures of myself! I love the idea of the KickTrak, I think I'm going to check it out right away - thanks for the idea! When is your due date again?

One more thing: Where did you get your KickTrak? I was going to order one online but the shipping alone was $23 and I don't know if it's worth it then! Is there some place you can get them in Canada?

Of course I am well past needing such a thing, but it sounds like a great little gadget!

Wow! What a great product. Not Preg, nor planning anytime soon, but it is something that if I was I would like.

Great idea about the blog review - I sent an email and we will see what happens! Maybe I'll get a free kickTrak too :)

Wow! I would have loved that for my last baby. But, we are done having kids, so I guess I missed out on the fun. It sure sounds handy to have though!
