Barefootin' it!

Just last week Tate got three REALLY fun books from Barefoot books! I have been eyeing their books for a while now. They have TONS of great sounding kids books and they are colorful and fun (you know, none of that boring black and white and uhh...grey - or is that light black? or dark white? Anyways....) stuff. They have the cutest and funnest (yes, funnest IS a word - at least in my dictionary! ha!) books I've seen for a long time! So the other day Tate and Daddy had a little reading time together. They started off with that classic story, The Gingerbread Man! I love this story...and Tate obviously did too since he didn't squirm and wiggle as much as usual...he was having fun turning the pages I think! :) What a great book too! It's a hardcover book full of fun pictures of the gingerbread man running as fast as he can...and everyone chasing him as fast as they can...and of course there's the sneaky ol' wolf at the end! hehe...oh it's so fun. I think I might need Jonathan to read me this book for a bedtime story one night! haha :)

Now after a short break (because sitting still for TOO long just can't be done you know! :) At least not at the age of 1 yr!), Jonathan pulled another Barefoot book outta the box...The House that Jack Built!! And this one even has a read-along CD that goes with it!! Verrrry nice!! I love that feature, and I'm sure Tate will love it more as he gets a bit older too! And as I'm sure you can tell, it's another COLORFUL book...pretty much every color of the rainbow plus more are in this one I think! hee hee. :) I love colorful stuff! And what kid doesn't want lots of colors?!?! Not to mention all the fun characters, like the Rooster and the farmer (I think Tate's gonna like farming now that he's had his first tractor ride!! hehe) and even the cow with the crumpled horn (more farm stuff!! ;) ).

And finally, one last story. This is Tate's favorite right now! He brings me this book to read all the time at home...and he can even look at it himself (because the pages are all hard cardboard, so his 'lil muscles can't rip these pages in half! :) ). And it's a fun story too...with just a line on each page so you can turn the pages REALLY REALLY quickly and therefore you can actually read the entire book (even if it is read fast!) before he gets tired of reading a book! It's called There's a Cow in the Cabbage Patch...and it's so fun! All the barnyard animals have gotten mixed up and are in the wrong spots! Oh no! And the pictures are made with felts and buttons and so of course Tate likes to try and poke their eyes and stuff! hehe :) Good thing he doesn't do that to real animals! He actually doesn't like to even TOUCH real animals...but that's okay! He hugs his stuffed animals with big huge hugs, so that's good enough for now!
So, if you are looking for some great kids books, you know, for Christmas gifts or anything like that...I would definitely recommend checking out Barefoot books! They have LOADS of kids books that I just can't find in the average bookstore...and the SHIP FAST!! And they have some books in other languages too. AND (need I go on?) they things besides books too...like CUTE finger puppets, puzzles, etc.! Hmmm...this would definitely be a company that I would consider buying some things from in the future...and how can you go wrong with a FUN name like Barefoot Books? I luv it! :)
